1. What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files placed on your browser by websites you visit. They help with session management, remembering preferences, and providing a smooth user experience.

WellPDF uses only consent-required cookies after your explicit consent under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC). Strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent.

2. Cookie types we use

3. Purposes

Authentication: remember your session after login.
Security: protect against CSRF attacks (csrf_token cookie).
Preferences: store language, timezone, UI choices.
Service delivery: remember files in active processing.

Important: We do not use ad-tracking, social-media pixels, or user-profiling cookies.

4. Third-party cookies

Only the following third-party services may set cookies on WellPDF:

Apryse WebViewer (PDF editor UI) — its own state cookies.
Lemon Squeezy (payment provider) — session cookies during the checkout/payment flow.
Google Fonts — font CDN only, does not set cookies.
Google Sign-In — authentication cookies during OAuth flow (only when you choose Google login).

Third parties are governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Manage your preferences

We ask for your explicit consent before any non-essential cookie is used. From the consent banner shown on first visit, you can choose:

Accept All: all strictly-necessary + functional cookies enabled.
Essential Only: only what’s required to operate the service.
Manage: per-category granular choice.

You can change your preferences any time via Account Settings.

6. Browser settings

You can also control cookies through your browser:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage cookies and site data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Disabling strictly-necessary cookies may break the service (e.g. you can’t log in).

7. Changes

This policy is updated as needed. Material changes are communicated via in-app notice and/or by re-prompting the consent banner. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.
